Éric Lafforgue is a photographer that has spent much of the last decade traveling the world, shooting and documenting people in their native countries. In 2012, he was even given access to North Korea for the 6th time, where he shot thousands of photos of citizens, government officials and families living their difficult lives.
All was going well until Lafforgue was banned by the government for the photos of North Korea that he was sharing online. Lafforgue had smuggled unapproved photos out of the communist country on hidden memory cards.The Korean government discovered the photos posted online and confronted Lafforgue, demanding he delete the images. When Lafforgue refused, North Korea issued a lifetime ban. Here are his images.
