Before 13 years was 2003 and it feels like an entire lifetime. Then, we thought flip phones were cool, the first Pirates of the Caribbean film had just released and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still a couple.
Until 2007 the iPhone wasn’t released, but in 2003 we met the 3rd generation iPod. That was the coolest thing any music fan had ever heard of when it was first released. Despite how much it cost, you needed to have it. Then the price was 399 dollars.
Oprah showed off the new iPod to her audience in The Oprah Winfrey Show. The men in her audience are immediately alert and paying attention. Everyone was amazed that this could hold over 3,000 songs. At that time, it was the size of a deck of cards.
When she gets the iPod in her hands, Oprah starts dancing. Her talk show usually leaves her audience stunned, but this piece of technology completely disconcerted her.
Nowadays as Apple is releasing their iPhone 7, it feels like it was yesterday when Oprah was asking how the music gets inside of the iPod. When I first saw it, I wondered the exact thing. Do you remember wishing or buying some of these?
